Why Wasn’t It Better? is a long-form movie podcast hosted by Patrick Darms, with co-host Anton Paras.
We look at movies that had the ingredients to be great: the cast, the director, the story, the budget, the expectations. Then we ask what happened. Sometimes the answer is a troubled production. Sometimes it’s a baffling creative decision. Sometimes the movie deserves a better reputation.
The conversation moves between film history, production stories, box office, and the experience of actually watching the film. It’s knowledgeable, opinionated, occasionally irreverent, and always up for an argument.

Anton Paras
Co-host of WWIB. The other voice in an ongoing conversation about the movies we love, the movies that let us down, and everything in between. He loves comic books. He and his family live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he is originally from.
